	Deon McNeilly and Jim Patterson at the start and finish of the 1984 Mourne 2day. We finished a close 2nd to english pair Ratcliff and Bleakley. This was Deons 4th attempt but only his 2nd finish the other being a 4th with Dermot McGonigle in 1983, He didn't take part in the event again until 1996 when he paired up with Brian Ervine to record his first win in the event. Since then Deon has teamed up every year until 2003 with Daimen Brannigan, recording 2 further wins.

	Shows Jim Patterson crossing the Glen River in the 1980 (?) Slieve Donard Race
	Jim Hayes leading eventual race winner Mike Short (Horwich RMI 2 times Fell Runner of the Year) across the Glen River in the same race. As I recall it Jim was third at the summit behind Colin Donnelly and Short, only to launch himself off the face of the summit into a big lead and spectacular fall breaking a collar bone.
