British Champs: Mourne Highline last minute info

Timetable

The timetable of events for tomorrow is as follows:

08:45 – Registration opens in the Race HQ (Newcastle Baptist Church Hall, 17 Bryansford Road, Newcastle, BT33 0HJ)
10:30 – Race Briefing outside Race HQ
10:45 – After the race briefing proceed to Donard Park to get buses to the start
11:00 – Buses leave @11am sharp. It is your responsibility to ensure you are on the bus in time. The buses will not wait for stragglers.
12:00 – Race Start
14:30 – Refreshments available in Race HQ
16:00 – Prize Giving in Race HQ
17:00 – Venue closes

Mandatory Kit

All runners must carry the below equipment, no matter what the weather conditions.

– Whistle
– Compass
– Map of the entire course. (Black & White photocopy not acceptable.)
– Waterproof coat with hood and taped seams
– Waterproof leggings with tapped seams
– Hat and gloves.

All runners’ kit will be checked at registration before receiving your race number and spot-checked before the race can start. (So bring your kit with you to registration !!!)

As this is a challenging race you must be prepared for all eventualities especially if the weather is bad as your navigation will be tested. If you do have to pull out tell a marshal (if possible) and return by the safest direct route and report to the race organisers at the finish when you get back to Donard Park so that we know you are safely off the hills. Hand back your Si card (dibber). For those who plan to carry a mobile phone the emergency contact number on the day will be 07803136002.
