British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championship

Congratulations to Dearbhla Magee of Newcastle AC on her participation in the British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championship in Scotland on Saturday September 21st 2013. Dearbhla was our sole representative and performed well in a high standard field in the under 16 Girls race. Dearbhla took 24:40 over the 3.8 km course which had 225 metres of climb. The winner was Elizabeth Greenwood of England in 19:23.

Thanks too to Declan for supporting her and finishing 7th in the Open Race.

Ireland had teams in each of the race categories, with a best performance by Aoife Mulroy, third in the U16 Girls.

It is likely that the 2014 event will be held in Ireland.
