International Selection 2015

We are now at the time of year when we make our selection for International teams to represent Northern Ireland. If you are interested in being considered for selection you must initially advise your interest by email Anne Sandford at annerunning@hotmail.co.uk.

CRITERIA

You must be a current member of NIMRA.
You must have been born in Northern Ireland.
You must have taken part in a NIMRA race this year. (Due to the local round of the British Championship not being held until the 15th August it has been decided by the committee for this year only that athletes who have represented Northern Ireland last year and wish to be considered this year can show proof of current form without doing a NIMRA race. Anyone else who did not represent Northern Ireland last year and wish to be considered would be strongly advised to run the Donard Commedagh race on 11th April.)

RACES.

Inter-Counties Fell Running Championships Saturday 16th May,Betwys-y-Coed in North Wales. Distance 10.4km/488m for the senior men, 10.16km/472m for senior women.

Teams of up to 5 runners with 3 to count for senior men and women but the 5th member must be U23. You must register interest in selection before 11th April.

Volvo International Snowdon Race Saturday 18th July 16km, 1006 climb, Llanberis, Wales.

Teams of 4 senior men and 3 senior women will be selected on current form up to 14th June. You must register interest in selection before 14th June.

Senior Home International Saturday 22nd August, Betwys-y-Coed in North Wales. Up & down course, 12.8km/750m 3 laps men and 8.7km/500m 2 laps women

Teams of 5 senior men and 5 senior women will be selected on current form up to 31st July. You must register interest before 31st July.

British & Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships Saturday 19th September, Betwys-y-Coed in North Wales. Approx distance uphill only MU17 /MU20 5km/300m, WU17 3km 200m

This event is open to all selected runners U17 and U20. Again anyone wishing to be considered must be a NIMRA member and register interest before 1st August. If enough interest is shown a selection race may be organised at the Bernagh Race on 29th August.
