International Selection 2017

We are now at the time of year when we make our selection for International teams to represent Northern Ireland. If you are interested in being considered for selection please email Anne Sandford at annerunning@hotmail.co.uk.

CRITERIA

You must be current member of NIMRA
You must have taken part in a NIMRA race in 2017
Strongly advised, for selection for Inter Counties especially, to have run in the British Championship race on 8th April and/or any other NIMRA championship races.

INTER COUNTIES CHAMPIONSHIPS
Broughton Heights Hill Race, Scotland – Saturday 13th May 2017 at 1pm
(1 hour drive from Edinburgh)

9.6km race with 600m climb up & down race with both men & women competing over the same course.

Teams of up to 5 runners with 3 to count for Senior Men and Women but the 5th member must be U23.

Selection criteria: current form up to and including British Championship race on 8th April. Must register interest in selection on or before 8th April.

SENIOR HOME INTERNATIONAL
Sedbergh, Cumbria Sunday 18TH June – up and down race
Up to 6 senior men and 6 senior women of whom 2 are under 23 age group. Medals for teams given to the first 4 to count.
Men & Women 12.6km 866m ascent/descent
Teams will be selected on current form up to and including Donard Challenge race on 8th April and Slieve Donard on 20th May. You must register interest in selection before 3rd June.

42nd INTERNATIONAL SNOWDON RACE
Saturday 15th July 12 noon Venue: Llanberis, Wales http://snowdonrace.co.uk
Invitation comes out for teams in May/early June.
Teams of 4 Senior Men and 4 Senior Women will be selected on current form up to and including, preferably, Donard Race on 20th May, Flagstaff, Inter-Counties. You must register interest in selection by 10th June.

WMRA LONG DISTANCE EVENT – Premana, Italy (32 km)
6th August
(UK & Northern Ireland Trial – 3 peaks 29 April 2017) See FRA website for selection criteria
Maurice Mullins Ultra (Wicklow Way) 25th March is the trial for Irish Team.
