Introduction to Mountain Navigation Event Re-scheduled

This has been re-scheduled for February 7th.

NI Orienteering are organising a introduction to navigation event on Divis Mountain. The event will use a hybrid map (a sort of mix of an orienteering and OS map) and will be somewhere between orienteering type navigation and fell race type navigation.

There will be 2 courses to choose from, a Long (approx. 10km) and a Short (approx. 5km). The courses will be run individually and will be timed- however participant can do it at their own pace. There will be a short introduction to navigation beforehand. All you need is a pair of fell shoes and a simple compass (there will be some to borrow if you don’t have one).

The event will start at the National Trust car-park (LINK) at 12:00, Saturday 7th Feb. There will be a 1hr30 cut-off time from when you start.
