NIMRA Junior Selection Trial July 28th

Junior Trial being held on 28th July, 11:00am at the Slieve Bearnagh Race.

This trial will be used as selection for the Junior Home International, being held on 8th September in Glendalough, Co.Wicklow.

Trial details:-

Location – Slieve Meelbeg, Mourne Mountains

Registration – on the day at Happy Valley Carpark, at the end of the Trassey Road, BT33 OQB (Grid ref 293 297)

Time – Registration 10:00am – 10:45am (parent consent forms to be completed)

Cost – £3 – pay on day

Kit requirements – Waterproof coat, waterproof trousers, whistle, hat and gloves (and a means of carrying – bumbag is typical)

Race start – 11:15 (senior race start is at 11:00)

Route – approx 3.6km with 385 m of ascent and descent

– fully marked route, up Meelbeg to the summit, around cairn and back by the same marked route.

Selection details:

4 Teams

U17 Girls and U17 Boys – born 2002 or 2003 (race 5.6km with 314m climb)

U20 Men and U20 Women – born 1999, 2000 or 2001 (race 6.7km with 338m climb)

There is also the possibility of development teams being sent – this is still to be confirmed.
