Sat 26 April 2003 - Ian Taylor
The Knockdhu Home International race takes place tomorrow, Saturday, 26 April with the junior race at 12.45 and the senior one at 1 pm. With 65 visiting athletes from five home countries, plus ourselves, the event promises to be very competitive. However each race is open to all - come and prove you should have been on the team!
The junior course is 2.6 miles with 690 feet of climb while the senior course is 4.7 miles with 1470 feet to climb. The winning time is likely to be just over 34 minutes. The course has four climb with most running on short grass. One of the descents is quite steep, again on grass.
The start is at Linford Car Park, about 2 miles west of Cairncastle, outside Larne. If coming from Belfast, take a left turn onto the B148 about 0.6 miles after the start of the dual carriageway into Larne. Follow signs to Cairncastle, taking a left turn in the village.
