Slieve Foyle Mountain Trial

Wed 3 September 2003 - Simon Taylor

Next Saturday the Slieve Foye Mountain Trial is being held on the Cooley peninsula. If you are doing the Mountain Marathon this would be excellent preparation as the emphasis is on navigation choice over a longer distance. The staggered start will be from 9 am onwards.

Start: Sl Foye Forest car part, map reference 168137. Take the left turn to Omeath & Carlingford coming out of Newry. After about 6 miles there is a forest entrance on the right hand side with the car park further in.

The route is about 22 km with 1250 metres of climb. Organised by Brian Vallely and Armagh Club, you are guaranteed a good event with social and crac afterwards. For further details contact Brian on 028 3751 1248.
