Wed 23 July 2003 - Ian Taylor
The Northern Ireland team for the Snowdon mountain race is Alex Brennan, Mark Alexander and Simon Taylor (men) and Tricia Sloan & Sharon McBurney (ladies). The event is next Saturday in N Wales, following the well used Llanberis track to the summit and back. The length is just under 10 miles with 3300 feet of climb. Tricia Sloan is a former winner in 1995 with a time of 1:22:33 including an ascent of 53:13. Both Alex Brennan & Simon Taylor took part last year, with times of 1:19:38 & 1:21:30 respectively. The best ever time to the summit, of 39:47, was set way back in 1985 by a much younger Robbie Bryson.
