Lurig & Final Championship Standings

Neil Carty (N Belfast) was the comfortable winner of the final race of this years 9 race NI Mountain Running championship. With a clear minute over David McNeilly (Ballydrain) in 2nd, and Deon McNeilly (Newcastle) 3rd. The result ensures that Neil takes the NI championship for the second time.

Shileen OKane (BARF) showed she is getting back to full fitness taking the ladies race from Hannah Shields (City of Derry) and Martina Hawkins (Newcatle)3rd. However, despit being 4th lady over the line Violet Linton claimed maximum championship points as only NIMRA members can score championship points a result that confirms she takes the NI title for the first time.

This year saw a record number of 35 people complete the championship, However, interestingly the number could have been higher with 3 people completing the required number of races but not being listed due to not joining NIMRA.
