Binevenagh Race

Wed 16 February 2005 - Ian Taylor

Next Saturday you have a chance to test out your hill running race fitness prior to the first Championship events. The new Binevenagh race, organised by Pegasus Club, takes place around the craggy cliffs overlooking Magillian Point and Lough Foyle, with the river Roe meandering on the flat plain below.

The race is probably just under 7 miles in length with about 450 metres of climb. It starts at 12 noon (and not at the later time in the route description) with a slightly revised route.

Registration for the race is at the car park beside the church at map reference 678314 on OSNI sheet 4. This is sign posted off the minor road going round the base of the cliffs and forest (Ballycarton/Binevenagh) off the main A2 coast road. Allow a bit over 1:15 to 1:30 hrs travel time from Belfast.

See you there.
