Thu 25 August 2005 - Ian Taylor
With the Championship over, now is the time to do something different.
Scrabo
How about a short sharp race over Scrabo this Friday evening?
Races from 7 pm onwards for juniors and seniors. The junior
Championship is included, together with selection for the Br &
Irish Under 14, 16 & 18 Championships to be held over Sl Foye,
Carlingford in October.
Sl Foye Trial
Not to be confused with the Br & Irish Champ in October, this
navigation event is on Saturday, 3 September. Just the event to
test out your navigation prior to the Mountain Marathon. Details
elsewhere on the web. If you are interested please contact
organiser Brian Vallely by Sunday, 28 August- if there are insufficient
numbers exporessing interest the event will be cancelled. Last
year s low numbers allowed one slow navigator to beat off faster
runners and return with a winners trophy.
British Championship Club Relays
These are on 16th October in Alva, just north of Stirling but entries
must be received by Monday 5 September - but the limit of 100 teams may
be reached before then. The event is very accessible to us so how
about it ACKC, Larne, BARF, Newcastle, Ballymena,...? Newcastle &
BARF have been in the past. The Relay has 4 legs - two solo ones
and two with pairs of runners so a team needs six altogether. A
weekend with great craic to wind down the fell running season.
World Masters
Held in Keswick on 9th - 11 September with 15+ NI entries already
amongst the 700+ total entry. The closing date for this is
Thursday, 1 September.
