Slieve League Update

Thu 15 September 2005 - Ian Taylor

The Slieve League Race in Donegal has unfortunately had to be cancelled due to a funeral in the family of the race organiser, Kiaran Carr.  I have removed the original news item but you could of course still go there for a run.  I have copied part of the previous news item in below.

Slieve League is a classic mountain and certainly doesn deserve its status of the the highest mountain under 600 metres.  You should still plan to go up Slieve league sometime, but preferably from the end of the road at MR 558 757, following the path along the curve of the cliffs sweeping down almost 2000 feet to the sea. Better still, arrange a second car at Malin Beg, crossing Leahan and finishing with a dip in the sea at the golden beach at Trabane. Class!
