World Masters Results

Results of the World Masters are shown in the table below, with places for each different 5 year age category. Similarly the percentage time behind the winner relates to the winner of that age category. There were two different courses, with a shorter one for Masters 55 and above. The photograph numbers refer to those on the Borrowdale Web site where there are individual quality pictures of virtually every runner - they are worth looking at even for the expressions on the different runners? faces. Top ten placings were obtained by Jim Patterson and Deon McNeilly, with Alywnne Shannon close behind with a 12th place. Denis & Billy had a hard fought battle in the Masters 60 category, with the latter leading at the top but losing a place on the descent.  Also in the Masters 60 category, exile Kiaran Carr from Donegal finished 5th, just 12 seconds off Silver position.  Perhaps if he had not done the Ben Nevis race the previous week he might have got a medal.
