Binevenagh Preview

Thu 22 February 2007 - Ian Taylor

Our first home race, Binevenagh, on our calendar is next Saturday, 24 February with a start time of 12 noon.  The race route is the same as last year, with an opportunity to test out your winters training over proper hills, with cliffs and lakes thrown in for good measure.   Of course if you have time you can also look out over the flat plain of Magilligan across to Slieve Snaght in Donegal.  Further information is on the web.

Winners last year were Alan Bogle and Hannah Shields, both of City of Derry, with Alan reducing the record to 52:24 and Hannah taking seven minutes longer than her record of 70:03 from the previous year.  This is the first race in the 2007 Grand Prix series with points to be gained by all participants - although you must join NIMRA by 12 May to benefit.

Pegasus, the organising club, put in lots of effort to deliver a successful race - make sure you  join us.  You are reminded  that you should arrive by 11:45 am at the very latest as it takes 10 minutes to get to the start from registration.
