NIMRA Annual Meeting (update I)

Sat 6 October 2007 - Ian Taylor

As indicated in the printed calendar, the members annual meeting is being held on Monday, 15th October at 7:30 pm in Harlequinns Clubhouse, Malone Road, Belfast.

At this meeting we review the past year, make comments, discuss, chat and elect a committee for the coming year.

This News Item will be updated with further information over the next couple of days.

Because of the postal strike it may not be possible to get printed notices out to members in sufficient time. This notice together with minutes of the 2006 AGM has been sent out to those of you whose email addresses I have.  If the postal strike clears sufficiently I will send  out postal information to others.  This Web site  news item will also be updated if necessary.

One Resolution has been put forward by your committee as follows:

The committee proposed that there be an increase of membership subscriptions from ?8 to ?10 and an additional ?2 donation for Mourne  Heritage.

The sub rate has remained at ?8 for many years and the committee see  developing areas that could be supported.  The additional ?2 is to keep us in  favour with those who have some control over the Mournes area, where  increasingly we need to ask permission to hold events.

The committee are not proposing any changes in the Championship (4 out of  6) or Grand Prix formats (6 out of 11).  Full results of these will be available  at the AGM, updating what was previously issued in June.

Members are free to make proposals to the AGM.  It would be helpful to the  business if the secretary is informed so that they can be published via the  web site.

Harlequins Clubhouse is accessed from a short road, turning right almost at  the end of Deramore Park.  Deramore Park is the third entrance on the right  coming from Balmoral Avenue.  Alternatively, if coming out the Malone Rd,  pass through the Stranmillis junction traffic lights, go round a left hand kink in  the road past two Bladon entrances, past Deramore Drive and Deramore  Park is then the next left.
