Rostrevor Race
Wed 15 August 2007 - Ian Taylor
Next Saturday is the final race of the NIMRA Championship and the
selection race for the NI team for the World Trophy. The race
starts at 12 noon (ladies, junior ladies and junior men) and at 12:01
(senior men).
Route details are on the web (see an earlier News item for the map
& description). There is one correction to the route as
published. After climbing to the top of the forest the route goes
right to the base of the final Slieve Martin climb. It then
swings left to pick up the return path and does not go to the
summit. This route has been marked on the ground for some time
and reflects the World Trophy course more accurately. Also one
section of the zig zags is used uphill and on the descent.
Runners are asked to keep to their left on this section of the track so
that slower runners going up stay close to the bank and leave plenty of
room for those descending. Marshalls will be at both ends of this
section.
