Slieve Foye, Saturday 1 September

Sat 25 August 2007 - Ian Taylor

The next event on the NIMRA calendar is the Slieve Foye Mountain Trial.  Devised by Brian Vallely & based on the classic Lake District event, this is effectively a one day mountain marathon where you can concentrate on the navigation and carry relatively little gear.  Hence if you want to improve your navigation, want an enjoyable outing in less familar hills or are preparing for the Mourne Mountain Marathon, this is an event you should not miss.

The details of the venue location in the Cooley Mountains, over the same area as the Flagstaff race, are elsewhere on this web site.  Normally organised by Armagh Club, for this year only the organiser is myself - please contact me on 028 9028 0790 if you need further details, with checkpoints & other assistance from Armagh.

As the race checkpoints are still being finalised, the distances & climb indicated are approximate & depend on your route choice.  It is intended that two course lengths will be supported.
