Championship Update

Saturday sees the third round of the NIMRA Championship
series over the Donard-Commedagh route, after Sl Gullion & Mourne Peaks.
The table below shows the top half of the points table at
present, but as many athletes have only completed one race, there could be
quite a few upsets from the current positions.
For example Gerry Kingston leads the vet40 group, having completed both
races, but Des Woods, Neil Carty & Brian Ervine, all fellow vet40s, might
have something to say about that on Saturday.
On current form, Des Woods will be hard to beat. Similarly Dominic McGreevy as a vet50 may
move up the overall standings as will Steve Cunningham, Don Travers and Raymond
Ferguson in the Open category.
In the ladies? categories, Fiona Maxwell, followed by Alwynne
Shannon are well ahead, but its good to see so many ladies in contention. Ladies are reminded that the best four of any
the six races can be counted for points.
