At the half way point in the Championship, 2007 champion Deon McNeilly (Newcastle, 297 points) is in the lead with Gary
Bailey of Mourne Runners in second place on 292 points. However both Des Woods
with two wins from two races (200 points) and possibly Neil Carty with 196 points could
well overtake both Gary & Deon.
In the ladies Championship, Fiona has maximum points from three events
so could finish off the ladies section if she competes on
Sunday. Alwynne Shannon is second with 295 points and Anne
Sandford third with 197 points from two events. Norma Rea is
fourth and Jackie Toal and Stephanie Hambing equal fifth.
In the team awards, Mourne Runners lead with three wins, Newcastle have
two second places and a third place while BARF, in third place, have
two thirds and a fourth place. However North Belfast, if they can
get a team out, have the potential to move up in the standings.
