In the third round of the Br Championship Fell Running series, Karen Alexander was placed fourth female in a time of 1:28:06.  The race at Dollar in Scotland was over a 9.4 mile course with 3150 feet of climb.  The first lady was Pippa Maddams of Keswick in 1:24:01, shaving 9 seconds off Angela Mudge's record.  Second female was Catriona Buchanan "fresh" from her win at Snowdon the previous week.

The overall race winner was Rob Hope in 1:12:48 in a field of 255 athletes

Newcastle athlete Jim Patterson also took part, finishing 5th vet60 in 1:34:43.  Jim is now fourth in the vet60 Br Champ series, with the long counter Black Mountain race late in September.  Jim also took part in the previous Br Champ race, over the short Sedbergh Three Peaks course (4.1 miles, 1663 feet), finishing in 141st place overall.  He was joined by Jonny Steede, 44th place in 36:35 with the winner being Tim Davies in 31:59.
