Mourne Mountain Rescue Donard Wood Trail Race
Distance: 5 miles
Climbing: 300 metres
Entry Fee: You decide charity contribution
NIMRA are organising a pre-season warm up event in aid of Mourne Mountain Rescue.
Starting in Donard Park runners will follow the Donard Trail out to the climb up the granite steps on the old Bogie Line to the top of Donard Park. From this point, follow the short mountain path over to the viewpoint at Thomas’s quarry. The route now follows the trail along the top of the park over to the race’s highpoint at the top of Drinnahilly. It’s all downhill from here to Donard Park.
The course is mostly hard packed trails with a few diversions off path; it is not a mountain race.
All proceeds will be going to the Mourne Mountain Rescue so come along and show your support.
Registration is on the day in Donard Park.
