Divis 10K Race Report
by Nuala Muldoon
Despite some road work disruption we managed to get 116 people from the Hannahstown carpark to the summit of Divis and back. A tough route in warm conditions but well worth the effort with beautiful views and of course all for a great cause, Action on Hearing Loss.
Competitors ranged from 1 mile fun runners and leisurely strollers to some serious tough nut running with first man home being Simon Reeve in 38.01 followed by Richard Coey in 39.01 then Jim Brown in 39.09.
A great performance from Naomi Broughton meant she was the first lady home in 45.32 followed in close second by Helen Weir 45.54 and Louise Lemon coming in third in a time of 46.25
Action on Hearing Loss would like to thank all the volunteers today, National Trust staff at Divis, Podium 4 Sport for the Sponsorship and Sainsbury’s Kennedy Centre for the water donations.
We will be developing this event and doing it again next year hope to see you all there!
