Festive Races

Turkey Trot on Boxing Day

This will be held on the usual course. It will start at 12.00 noon from the bottom of Trassey Track. The entry fee is £7.00 (£8.00 non registered). As this is a winter race, full water proof body cover must be carried plus a hat and gloves. A compass and whistle are also mandatory. The minimum age for entry is 18 years. Dogs are not welcome following last years problems; indeed few would make the min age limit and if they did they would probably have to be dragged around !!

We will be using the green tag recording system similar to that used in the Seven Sevens. Basically, each runner will be given plastic numbered tags at the start and they must hand a tag to each of the marshals they pass on the course. The idea is that the marshal has a simpler more accurate method of recording who passes and does not have to battle with paper and pen in hostile conditions.

Looking forward to seeing everybody at the race and afterwards at the Tollymore Outdoor Center for mince pies and some grub before the prize giving.

Christmas Cracker on Saturday 28th December

There are rumours that this years course will not go through the forest park but concentrates on fields and bridleways.  I am sure all will be revealed on the day.  As usual you must race in a pair.   All runners should pre-register before race day, but payment will be taken on the day.  For more details see here.

Race over the Glens on New Years Day

Ballymena AC will be running their traditional New Years Day trail race in the ‘Queen of the Glens.  Registration for this event is now open.  Further details can be found here.

Get out and enjoy yourselves this Christmas.
