NIMRA Prize Giving Dinner 2018

The NIMRA end of year shindig took place recently in O’Hares, Newcastle. As always there was good eating, banter and an extra helping of Ricky Cowan. More importantly the prizes were given out. They were:

Podium4Sport NIMRA Championship Top 3 Men

Top 3 men – David, Seamus, Kieron (l to r)

Newcastle AC’s Seamus Lynch led the way this year winning the NIMRA Champs, Hill and Dales and the Irish Champs. He was followed in the NIMRA champs by Newcastle AC’s David Hicks in second and Kieron Kelly from Newry AC.

Top 3 Women – Gillian and Esther (l to r)

Newry AC lady Esther Dickson took the wins in the NIMRA Champs and the Hill and Dales. Shileen O’Kane finished second in the NIMRA Champs followed by Gillian Wasson.

Ultrarunner of the year

Ultrarunner of the year – Mark and Dominic (L to R)

This year the Ultrarunner award went to the three Newcastle AC mountain goats – Mark King, Dominic McInerney, and Stevie Wallace. Amongst their many achievements they completed the Bob Graham in the summer of 2018.

NIMRA Juniors

NIMRA junior 2018 – Tony and Conall (L to R)

The Junior runner of the year went to Tony McCambridge for his great performances in competition this year.

Inspiration Award

Inspiration 2018 – Zak Hanna

Zak has had a great year at home and abroad including coming 7th at this years Snowdon Race and performing well on the International circuit.
