By Ryan Maxwell

On Saturday 30th May 2015, nearly one hundred athletes turned out for the 3rd annual Belfast Harriers Belfast Hills 8.8k mountain-trail race; the event is also on the Northern Ireland Mountain Running Association (NIMRA) calendar.

In the men’s race, it was a close battle between the host clubs Neil Carty (North Belfast Harriers) and Newcastle AC’s David McNeilly, a man who has shown good recent form after returning from injury. In the end, it was Neil Carty who edged it, winning in 32:28 (1st place), with David settling for 2nd place in 32:36 (2nd place). Another North Belfast Harriers man, Nat Glenn, secured 3rd place in 33:00.
