Seven Sevens, Final race information

The weather forecast is looking good for the race tomorrow, but last week the weather at Slieve Bernagh illustrated how important it is to be properly prepared for whatever our potentially hostile mountain environment can throw at us. A full kit check will be carried out and if you turn up with inadequate or missing gear you will be refused entry.
The main cut off time is 14.30 at the Ben Crom Dam which is half way round the route. I have decided to have a second cut off time of 12.00 at the col between Slieve Donard and Slieve Commedagh, as anybody going at that pace is unlikely to make the Dam cut off time.

Don’t forget that Shimna College is our new Start/Finish venue. The race will start with a lap of the schools playing pitch’s then it will be out through the main school entrance and onto a forest trail leading to the Glen River. This section of the route will be marked. The return to the finish will be by the same route and another lap of the pitch’s before crossing the finish line.

All the best with NIMRA’s longest day out in the hills.
