Skyracing comes to Northern Ireland

Our friends at NIRunning are part of the Skyrunning UK team who have been trying to introduce this type of running to these shores.  Today they have launched their own race weekend which will take this place on October 17th and 18th in the hill running stronghold of Newcastle.

The weekend will kick off on the Friday with an uphill only race on the Granite Trail.  This takes place under torchlight at night.  This will be followed on Saturday by an epic race in the Mournes with plenty of runnable ground and enough climbing to satisfy the most demanding grimpeur.  For more details on the races and online entry see here.
