2014 British and Irish Junior Home Internationals at Glendalough Co. Wicklow

The 2014 British and Irish Junior Home Internationals are taking place this Saturday 20th September in Glendalough Co. Wicklow on the Camaderry Course which was also used for this event in 2009.The course is mainly forest tracks with a small bit of open mountain along grassy paths. It is an extremely runnable course with fast times expected. Along with the hosts Ireland there will also be representatives and teams from England, Scotland Wales and Northern Ireland

A 10 strong contingent of athletes will compete for Northern Ireland and they are as follows:

U20 Boys – Paul Pruzina (Ballydrain Harriers)

U20 Girls – Olivia Brown (Ballydrain Harriers) Dearbhla Magee (Newcastle AC)

U17 Boys – Scott McKeag (Ballydrain Harriers) Aaron Harrison (Ballydrain Harriers) Oisin Brennan (Springwell) Glenn Grainger (Newcastle AC) Eoghan Knight (Newcastle AC) Joao Pimmental (Sperrin Harriers)

U15 Boys – Joel order avodart next day Harrison (Ballydrain Harriers)

Paul Pruzina and Eoghan Knight are well established orienteers and have both represented Northern Ireland recently. Ballydrain have the greatest number of representatives with Scott McKeag performing well recently in the local 10K events over the summer. Oisin Brennan is another young talent who is producing exceedingly good times in the events that he has run.

Hill & Dale 2014 Female Junior Champion Dearbhla Magee is again selected although has not done much racing recently but should perform well and knows what to expect from her previous participation in this event. Olivia Brown will accompany her to Glendalough and she also has competed at the Hill & Dale series producing some fine performances.

The teams are based at the Glendalough International Youth Hostel which also doubles up as Race HQ
