Mourne Mountain Marathon Volunteer Call out

This year’s event over the weekend of the 16th – 17th September is rapidly approaching and once again
we are looking to the mountain running community to help us out. We could do with volunteers to help
at the event centre on Saturday morning and also at the finish line on Sunday so if you are free at those
times we would be very appreciative of your help.

One of our big problems each year is getting the control boxes off the hills on Sunday as we have to ship
them back to England on the Monday morning. If you fancy a training run or walk to collect a few
controls while exploring areas off the beaten track please get in touch. This task attracts less interest
when the weather is inclement but that is the very time we need helpers who know what they are
about, so please regard it as a navigational exercise if you want. You might even be rewarded with a left
over sandwich when you get back!
