NIMRA team head for the Inter Counties Champs

This weekend 4 of Northern Ireland’s top mountain runners head across to Witton Park in Blackburn to compete in the Inter Counties Mountain Running Championships. The strong team is made up of Allan Bogle (City of Derry AC)- the recent winner of the Slieve Donard British Championships race, Iain Whiteside (Carnathy, Scotland)- runner up at Slieve Donard, Seamus Lynch (Newcastle AC)- 2nd place in last month’s Commedagh Chase and David Steele (Newcastle AC)- who has been going well in the Hill and Dale series and who is, along with Seamus, the current NI Junior cross-country team champions.

The NI team will compete against talented teams from all over the UK around the hilly 13km course in this prestigious event. Allan Bogle said “last year we were 4th place and surprised a lot of people! If we all run to our full capabilities I am sure we can do just as well again this year”
