Mulholland, Logue, Bogle and McNeilly do NI proud at Inter County Championships
On Sunday 19th May 2013, a team of four Northern Ireland runners were in competition in Yorkshire (England), at the Settle Hill Fell Race, which incorporated the UKA Mountain Running Challenge and the Inter County Championships.
Allan Bogle (City of Derry AC), David McNeilly (Newcastle AC), Gavin Mulholland (Calder Valley Fell Runners) and James Logue (Calder Valley Fell Runners) took on the 11.3km course, which included approximately 400m of ascending. It was the NI men now based in England, Gavin Mulholland and James Logue who led the team home. Gavin covered the difficult course in 50:35 (13th place), this was enough to secure cheap topamax buy second place in the Vet40 category. James (51:12) finished just over thirty seconds behind Gavin in 17th place, before Allan Bogle crossed the line in 52:50 (28th place) and Newcastle AC man David McNeilly came home in 54:36 (44th place).
The men were rewarded for their excellent ‘packing’ with an excellent 4th place finish in the team standings. Yorkshire won the team prize while Scotland’s Ethiopian import Wegene Tafase won the individual title in 46:06.
The Northern Irish team all wore black ribbons on their vests in recognition of Denis Rankin who would have been proud of such a strong team performance.
